Laccha Paratha Recipe, How to make whole wheat Laccha Paratha


Paranthas are the main food item in north India. Laccha Paranthas (layered paranthas) is one of the famous recipe among them. This is the most basic, quick and tastiest recipe!
Trying this laccha parantha recipe at home is an easy way to get a delicious meal.

Ingredients: (measuring cup used, 1 cup = 250 ml)
  • Wheat flour- 1 cup
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoon ghee for cooking (approx.)
  • ½ cup lukewarm water (approx.)
  • ¼ cup whole wheat flour(atta) for dusting
Direction:

1.   Combine flour, salt and oil in vessel and make a soft dough using water and  leave aside.

2.   Take the dough and divide it into equal sized balls.

3.   Roll out each portion into a round shape of 4-5 inch. Apply 1 teaspoon ghee over it and sprinkle some wheat flour over it. 

Now gather the rolled dough as shown in pic and again make a ball with it.
4.   Dust it with dry flour and now roll it into a flat disc of approx. 6 inch.

Roast the parantha on the pan on medium flame till it is nice roast from both sides. Prepare all the paranthas in the same manner.

Tips:

You can make little variation to this recipe by sprinkling 1/2 teaspoon of masala mix instead of flour on the ghee layer on each rolled dough ball. Mix the following masala.
  • 2 tsp Coriander powder/dhaniya powder
  • 1tsp cumin seeds/jeera
  • ½ tsp red chili powder/lal mirch powder
  • ½ tsp dry mango powder/amchoor powder
  • ½ tsp garam masala powder
Serving suggestion:


Hot and crispy Laccha Parantha can be served with Aloo Mutter, Dal Fry, curd, pickle or any other vegetable curry.
