Dahi Aloo Recipe for fasting, Dahi wale Aloo for Vrat

Dahi aloo is a simple recipe and usually had during fasting. It is a perfect side dish with other fasting recipes and has very simple flavor. It is easy to make and a quick dish. All you need are some boiled potatoes, yogurt/curd and regular vrat spices.

I have made dahi aloo with rajgira ke parathe. You can even serve it with kuttu ke parathe, rajgira ki puri or even samvat ke chawal ka pulao.

This curry can also be made when you are not fasting. You can spice it up more and serve hot with phulka or jeera rice.

Step by step dahi aloo recipe below:
  1. Boil the potatoes. Peel and just crumble it with your hands.
  2. Take yogurt/curd in a bowl and whisk it until smooth and keep it aside.
  3. Take oil in a pan and heat it. Add chopped green chili and fry for 5 seconds. Then add ¼ tsp red chili powder.
  4. Add whisked yogurt/curd and stir. Add water and stir again. Keep stirring till it starts to boil.
  5. Add crumbled potatoes and salt.  Mix well. Simmer for 2-3 minutes and keep stirring in between.
  6. Once done garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot.
